Step One ~ All-in-One Book

Materials needed:

  • Stitched design
  • Backing fabric
  • Wadding
  • Cardboard
  • PVA glue
  • Something heavy for weight
  • Braid, pins and ribbon
  • Velcro
  • Sewing thread/sewing machine - if making the ORT bag

Have your stitched design washed and pressed. Decide how much allowance you would like around the stitched part and pull a thread from each side and top and bottom. This will leave a gap in the fabric and will be used to line up when glueing. Then trim an allowance of 2inches all the way around. - Just as you would for the Flatfold.

Cut 2 pieces of backing fabric the same size as your newly trimmed stitched piece and 1 with an extra 3 inches on one side. For the pocket cut 1 piece the same width but half the length.

As you can see I haven't trimmed my stitched piece as I stitched it too close to the edge of the fabric and so need all the fabric possible, lol.

Cut your cardboard into 4 equal pieces, measuring the same size as the shape created on your stitched piece.
