I've used a glue gun here but you can use PVA, you will have to apply more pressure and wait for the PVA to dry.
Fabric quare and stitched piece right-side down, place wadding side onto centre and position.

Put some glue onto the cardboard and begin pulling over the excess fabric, smoothing out any bumps that may arise until you have gone all the way around.


Do this for both pieces.
